Dr. Nicole J Sim, O.D.
Dr. Nicole Sim attended UC Berkeley for her undergraduate degree in Molecular Cell Biology. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Vision Science. Dr. Sim graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry, receiving the Dean’s Award for her thesis.
Dr. Sim has diverse experience in the treatment of eye conditions and diseases. She was trained in various clinics such as a retinal specialty clinic, a low income trauma center and a vision training center for children. She has extensive experience in LASIK co-management, primary care optometry and dry eye treatment, along with other ocular diseases. Dr. Sim understands and values the important role of a primary care optometrist in taking care of not just patients’ eyes but their overall health as well. When Dr. Sim is not taking care of her patients, she loves to travel the world with her husband. She also loves to practice yoga with her friends and to experience some of the many wonders the Bay Area has to offer, such as its many amazing restaurants, cultural events, and nature. |
Dr. Crizelda Lauron, O.D.
Dr. Crizelda (Crissy) Lauron was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with minors in Chemistry and Psychology at the University of Miami. She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Optometry from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California.
Her clinical externships included: primary eye care at a military hospital in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, private practices in Southern California, a VA outpatient clinic in The Villages, Florida, and behavioral optometry with a neurodevelopmental specialist in Plano, Texas. She is glaucoma certified and practices full scope optometry. She also learned to speak clinical Spanish during her mission trip to El Salvador. The majority of her early career was spent in ophthalmology in the Bay Area, where she focused on primary care optometry with an emphasis on ocular disease, managing dry eye, contact lens fittings including specialty lenses like scleral and orthokeratology, and implementing myopia control particularly in younger patients. |
Additionally, she served as Surgical Director in helping manage all surgery patients, pre- and post-operatively.
Her favorite part about optometry is not only caring for her patients’ ocular health, but also building lifelong relationships with them and their families. Outside of optometry, she has a passion for cooking and all culinary related arts, practicing yoga, and traveling the world with her husband.

Comprehensive Vision and Eye Health Examinations
Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining healthy eyes by detecting and preventing disease. Some diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss. Early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options. The entire exam process can take an hour depending on the complexity of the problem. Each patient will be evaluated with a refraction, slit lamp, intraocular pressure and a retinal exam.
Pediatric Eye Care
We take pride in maintaining the vision of our younger patients in an environment that is lighthearted and fun. We want to insure the good sight, vision, and eye health for the rest of your child's life and take a preventative approach to his/her general health and eye health. We will work with your child's primary care physician to help keep his/her eyes healthy. It is important that all of our pediatric patients have healthy and efficient visual systems to help make visual demands of learning in school easier and fun.
Contact Lens Exams and Fittings
